Lavalava
Our shared book this week was "Lavalava" and Sam brought his Mum's Lavalava to show us. All of the Room 6 children were really keen to try it on and have their photo taken wearing it. Thank you Sam and Kelly!
Banana muffins!
Thank you to Amika and her Mum for making us banana muffins to share on the last day of the term, they were yummy!
Principal's Awards
Congratulations to Ben and Ella for receiving Principal's awards at assembly on Friday.
Milk for Schools
We are so lucky to get milk to drink each day from the Fonterra Milk for Schools programme.
Every child in our school is able to have a carton of delicious milk every day.
When we are finished, the cartons are folded flat and sent for recycling where they are made into books and tiles.
On Friday, Charmaine and Rob came to pick up the school's recycling.They were very impressed with the way children at Westport South School fold their boxes and get them ready for recycling. 
Congratulations to ALL the children at Westport South School and a very big thank you to the milk monitors from Room 12 who deliver and collect our milk each day!

Feijoas!
Brooklyn very kindly brought a bag of feijoas to school.
Some of us had never tried them before...

The Singing Cowboy
We were treated by a short performance from The Singing Cowboy today, the children enjoyed the country and western music.
