Week 4 in Review

I had high hopes when I asked Room 6 about their favourite things this week.  During the past few weeks, children have told me they enjoyed playing on their scooters at school with no mention of actually doing any schoolwork. After some exciting activities, I thought, surely they will mention favourites like Dinosaur Dig and  Caterpillar Observations. However, it was not to be....these are the results I got:

I liked playing on my scooter and writing.
I liked playing in the sandpit and playground.
I liked playing in the playground and doing some writing.
I liked playing Policeman with Jack.
I liked playing Cops and Robbers on the scooter.
I liked playing with Bailey in the sandpit.
I liked playing on my scooter and playing with Blair.
I liked reading books from the library shelf.
I liked playing on my scooter and reading.
I liked playing on my scooter and going to the library.

We will see how next week goes!

Developmental

We had a developmental session where the children were able to select an activity to do from a choice of cubes, Dinosaur Dig and pegboards.

The Shining Stars enjoyed this chance to be creative, interact with each other and participate in an activity of their choosing.  Not only that, but they worked together exceptionally well, busily organising a system of turns for Dinosaur Dig.  Fantastic work Shining Stars!

Jack Divides the class!

During our numeracy time, Jack used the multi-link cubes to make a long line through the room.

He then proclaimed: "That's Mrs Shepherd's area and that's the kids' area!"

Very creative Jack but this means I can't get to the door and am therefore trapped at school!

Senior School Leadership

Tara helped us in class this morning.  We enjoyed having her, thank you Tara!

Dd homework

Well done Shining Stars, your Dd homework was great!

Class Awards

Congratulations Kaleb and Jack for receiving class awards this week!

HEART in the playground

Kane won the draw to get something from the goodie box in Mrs Duston's office for showing HEART in the playground.  Kane chose a colouring book, well done Kane.

Principal's Award

A special congratulations to Emma for being presented with the Principal's Award at assembly today.  Emma was also lucky enough to win the Subway draw for Tuesday, well done Emma!

Letter D

This week we have been learning the letter D.
Today we practised being archeologists and had a Dinosaur Dig!

D is for Dinosaur Dig!
We had to carefully brush away the sand to see what would be revealed underneath.  We found lots of dinosaurs!
We were great at being Doctors discovering dinosaurs at our Dinosaur Dig!

Mrs Rodger's Kitten

We all had a turn to hold Mrs Rodger's kitten, Rain.
