Science Learning Hub

I have been attending professional development courses this year on Science. The Science Learning Hub is an online resouce. This afternoon I went and we did some interesting experiments including finding out what had the most vitamin C in it ( a vitamin c tablet, then a cheap drink sachet, the least was a real orange juice drink!). We also extracted the DNA from a tomato and completed an archeological dig for treasure!

The children in Room 6 are real Shining Stars when we do experiments in the class and I will be trying some of these with them!

Seth comes to visit

This morning Seth came for a visit. Here he is completing some activities. See you next week Seth!

Playing with blocks

Some of us played with the duplo blocks today, we built towers and houses. Children were co-operating really well! Good work Room 6 Shining Stars!

Assembly

Tomorrow at assembly, we will be sitting on the left side of the hall instead of the right. There are so many of us now, we take up the entire row!

Science Experiment

Today we did our O science experiment. We made Oobleck! We mixed cornflour with water to make a gooey mess, which was also not gooey! It came off our hands easily, sometimes it was runny, sometimes a solid mass! Oobleck is easy to make!

New Zealand Sign Language Week

Brynleigh's Mum, Mrs Sutherland, showed us some sign language today. She showed us the alphabet and a song. Mrs Sutherland has been teaching Room 12 a song this week and they will perform it at assembly on Friday. Thank you Mrs Sutherland.
