Making groups of ten

Here are some of us making groups of object to five and then ten.  We had to count carefully to get the right number of objects.

Sam's Car

Today Sam showed us his remote control car.  He told us it had flashing lights and then he showed us how it worked.  Thanks Sam!

Using the iPads

We can use the iPads to help us practise our handwriting.  There are special apps that teach us correct letter formation and we can use these special iPad pens.  This helps us  make the connection between the iPads and 'writing'.

K is for KABOOM!

Our letter of the week is K so today we did a K Science Experiment!  We needed vinegar, baking soda and a film canister.  We tipped some vinegar into the canister first. Next we added a little bit of baking soda and really quickly put the lid on.  As the baking soda and vinegar reacted, we could see it starting to bubble inside and then ... KABOOM!  The lid popped off into the air and the mixture squirted out!  Room 5 and 6 thought this was a great experiment to do, I'm sure Mrs Duston could hear the noise we made all the way down in her office!
