Christmas reindeer art

Did you see the stunning pictures the Room 6 Shining Stars did today?
We drew reindeer by listening hard to where we needed to draw in lines and shapes.
The children completed their work independently and weren't allowed to come and show me their pictures until the end of the exercise, I was very impressed with the results, well done Room 6!

We showed Mrs Rout and Room 14.  They liked our work too!

Holiday packs

All children took home a pack of work for the holidays today.  The pack consists of photocopied sheets containing number lines, 100's charts, numerals, sight words etc.  They have already taken home packs of books.  A little bit of time spent each day, will help your child retain their current skills and may keep them occupied on rainy days (although let's hope there aren't too many of those!)

Class swap

The children who are moving to Room 7/8 went for a short visit there this morning.  While they were gone, Amika organised the other children and lead a game of alphabet/sound match, well done Amika!

Irene van Dyk

A special assembly was held this afternoon to welcome Irene van Dyk to our school.  The Senior Kapa Haka gave a stunning performance to begin the assembly.

Irene talked to us about netball and some of the experiences she has had.  One of her main messages was "Don't give up" and she told us how she didn't make a rep squad until she was 18, hard to imagine!

My Emma was very lucky to get an autograph and a hug...

...and then our Junior Kapa Haka performed.

We were very lucky to have Irene visit us, thanks to Jenny and the Buller Netball Board.

Amazing Christmas Art

Look at the pictures Room 14 made using their footprints and handprints!
